The shape of this mic feels snug and can be cupped with ease, while the volume control has been fitted in just the right place so it can be adjusted with the palm of your hand. Usefully, the volume knob can also be bypassed, removing any fear of unwanted level adjustments during more energetic passages. Inside the HB52, the capsule has been calibrated to shape the kind of sound that makes you think of the blues masters of old, while the input impedance is comparable to that of an electric guitar, so using a standard XLR to jack lead, you can even hook this microphone up to a guitar amp.
